Tessallite Community Source Available License
Version: 1.0
Effective date: 2026-06-23

Copyright (c) 2026 Tessallite Ltd.

This is a source-available license for Tessallite Community source code that
Tessallite Ltd intentionally publishes to the public Tessallite Community
repository. The permitted source review, internal evaluation, development, and
self-hosted Community use rights are set out below.

## 1. Licensor

Licensor means Tessallite Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales
(company number 17243379), registered office 8 Lambert Road, Barking, England,
United Kingdom, IG11 0QW. Where these terms use "Tessallite" as the licensor or
an acting party, that means Tessallite Ltd.

## 2. Covered Source

Covered Source means source code, documentation, configuration templates,
scripts, and related files that Tessallite intentionally publishes in the public
Tessallite Community repository and that do not carry a separate license notice.

Covered Source does not include:

- proprietary license manager implementations;
- gateway guard or admission-control modules;
- internal request-token issuer or verifier modules when shipped as proprietary
  runtime components;
- model-service policy modules or compiled model-service builds when shipped as
  proprietary runtime components;
- license issuer, signing, release, registry, website, or customer-provisioning
  systems;
- private release or signing automation;
- optional optimizer, acceleration planner, aggregate/pocket matcher, exactness
  validator, aggregate/pocket rewrite, and related proprietary modules;
- compiled object code, container image layers, appliance images, VM images,
  hosted services, release bundles, or enterprise artifacts unless expressly
  identified as Covered Source;
- Tessallite trademarks, logos, names, domains, product marks, or brand assets;
- third-party components, which remain governed by their own licenses.

## 3. Permitted Use

Subject to these terms, Tessallite grants you a limited, non-exclusive,
non-transferable, royalty-free license to:

- view, clone, and study the Covered Source;
- modify the Covered Source for your own internal evaluation, development,
  testing, training, and self-hosted Community use;
- run Tessallite Community Edition for your own internal use, subject to the
  Community Edition terms, signed local license, and product limits that apply to
  your installation;
- make a reasonable number of internal copies for backup, development, testing,
  and security review;
- submit issues, patches, or pull requests to Tessallite.

## 4. Commercial Boundaries

The source-available grant is intended for internal review, evaluation,
development, testing, training, and self-hosted Community use. A separate
written agreement with Tessallite is required to:

- sell, sublicense, rent, lease, distribute, or transfer the Covered Source or
  modified versions to a third party;
- provide Tessallite, the Covered Source, modified versions, or derivative works
  as a hosted, managed, bureau, resale, OEM, white-label, embedded, or
  service-provider offering to third parties;
- use the Covered Source to build or offer a competing commercial semantic
  layer, BI gateway, analytics platform, managed service, or substantially
  similar product;
- publish, share, or distribute patches, forks, builds, images, or packages that
  include Proprietary Components or Tessallite proprietary material.

You agree to keep copyright, trademark, proprietary, and license notices in
place; use Tessallite names, logos, domains, marks, and brand assets only as
allowed by written brand guidance; use signed-license and entitlement controls
as provided; and not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to
extract source code from Proprietary Components except to the extent mandatory
law permits it.

## 5. Community Edition Runtime Terms

Running Tessallite Community Edition may require a signed local license file and
is also governed by `LICENSE-COMMUNITY.md`. If these source-available terms
conflict with `LICENSE-COMMUNITY.md` for Community runtime use, the Community
runtime terms control unless Tessallite signs a written exception.

## 6. Enterprise Terms

Enterprise Edition, production rights beyond Community Edition, support,
customer-specific entitlements, proprietary components, private bundles, and
commercial artifacts are governed by `LICENSE-ENTERPRISE.md` and the applicable
written order or agreement.

## 7. Contributions

Unless Tessallite signs a separate contributor agreement or states otherwise in
writing, any contribution you submit to Tessallite may be used, modified,
sublicensed, and redistributed by Tessallite under any Tessallite license or
commercial terms. Do not submit material you do not have the right to contribute.

## 8. Ownership

Tessallite and its licensors retain all rights not expressly granted. The Covered
Source and Proprietary Components are licensed, not sold. No rights are granted by
implication, exhaustion, waiver, estoppel, or otherwise.

## 9. Third-Party Components

Third-party components retain their own licenses. See `THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md`.
For a third-party component, the third-party license controls that component
only.

## 10. Termination

If you materially breach these terms, your rights under this license end unless
Tessallite agrees otherwise in writing. You must then stop using the Covered
Source and destroy copies in your possession or control, except where retention
is required by law.

## 11. Warranty Disclaimer

The Covered Source is provided without a commercial warranty unless Tessallite
agrees otherwise in writing.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tessallite does not provide implied
warranties for the Covered Source, Community Edition, documentation, examples,
demo data, container images, installation scripts, or related materials.

## 12. Limitation Of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tessallite is not liable for indirect,
special, incidental, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss
of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, or business opportunity. Tessallite's
aggregate liability under these terms is limited to GBP 100.

## 13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England
and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, unless a separate written agreement signed
by Tessallite states otherwise.
